$1m self-storage deal, Hubbingtons’ N. Hampton site … and more
The 287-unit Derry Self-Storage facility at 125 Windham Rd., Derry, has been sold for $1 million to CROM LLC.
The property is comprised of five free-standing buildings, totaling 35,150 square feet on 4.12 acres.
Dan Scanlon of Colliers International’s Manchester office represented the seller in the transaction. Joe Mendola of NAI Norwood Group represented CROM.
Ed Smith, principal of CROM, said, the acquisition will allow him to extend the Granite Clover Self Storage brand to the Derry-Londonderry area.
Peter Rhoades of Hubbingtons Furniture, Barrington, has acquired the Drake Farm at 148 Lafayette Rd., North Hampton, a 14,242-square-foot property that sits on a 10.89-acre lot, for $650,000.
David Choate and Maxine Kenny of Colliers International’s Portsmouth office represented the buyer, and Janet Faulkner, of KW Commercial, represented the seller, Marcia Van Dyke.
Rhoades said he purchased the property for its Route 1 location “and because the large historic barn will make a spectacular furniture showroom.” He said he expects to open the store in spring 2015.
Kevin Roy of 257 Portsmouth Ave. LLC, has acquired the 3,169-square-foot, 1.54-acre property at 257 Portsmouth Ave. in Stratham from Exeter Med Real Inc., the real estate subsidiary of Exeter Hospital for $250,000.

Roy plans to build addition to building and move his Portfolio Kitchens showroom and Kevin Roy Building Company Inc. to the property in the fall.
Adam Lornitzo and Diane Hall have been promoted to associate at Hanover-based UK Architects.
Lornitzo, an architect who is currently completing a master’s of architecture degree at Lawrence Technological University, is a LEED accredited professional.
Hall, who has served as office manager for 10 years, has an MBA in leadership from Franklin Pierce University.
A webinar on effective presentations will be presented May 20 by the Northern New England Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services.
The organization is made up of marketing professionals in the architecture, engineering and construction fields.
The webinar will run from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Metro Walls is currently working on two new construction projects in Burlington, Mass.
The company is working on a 135,000-square-foot retail store for the Wegmans supermarket chain, the chain’s third shopping and destination market in Massachusetts.
Metro is also working on a LEED Gold designation building for the coffee system maker Keurig Green Mountain. The 275,000-square-foot, nine-story office building will accommodate all administrative functions under one roof.
