Business and event happenings around the state of NH

1. New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) President and CEO Gregg Tewksbury participated in a U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Literacy Month Roundtable with Community Bank leaders recently in Washington. Tewksbury spoke on the importance of financial literacy during Financial Literacy Month. He also highlighted the efforts of NHMB’s three banks, Meredith Village Savings Bank, Merrimack County Savings Bank and Savings Bank of Walpole, and their efforts to expand access to quality financial education.

2. The Home Beautiful is celebrating its fifth anniversary as an employee-owned cooperative. After 35 years, Bruce Hamel sold The Home Beautiful and The Home Beautiful Bargain Outlet to his 11 employee-owners in 2021. The company is also launching several community-focused initiatives across central New Hampshire, including the Local Hero giveaway, which awards $5,000 in flooring and installation to a deserving community member. The Home Beautiful team will also participate in five acts of kindness.

3. The New Hampshire Marathon committee announced that Hiltz Excavating is the title sponsor of the 33rd New Hampshire Marathon on Oct. 3. The NH Marathon has remained committed to strengthening the lives of local youth. All proceeds are donated to: Circle Program, Mayhew Program and Tapply-Thompson Community Center (TTCC), all Lakes Region nonprofit organizations. 4. Nashua Center is a 2025 recipient of the Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders grant. This funding will support the center’s work to provide needed services to people with disabilities in southern New Hampshire, and strengthen its ability for future growth. Nashua Center has helped 300 children and adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain disorders live in inclusive communities. This $50,000 in funding, to be used over two years, will also help with leadership training and connecting with local nonprofits.

5. Meredith Village Savings Bank announced it has donated $2,000 to support staffing needs at the Pemi Youth Center in Plymouth. The center provides free after school and school vacation programming for youth ages 9 to 17. The center supports, encourages and empowers youth to believe in their unique abilities, work together and pursue goals.

6. The Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of btone FITNESS Salem at 125 South Broadway, the first btone location in New Hampshire. Chamber members and supporters enjoyed coffee from Deja Brew Cafe, treats from Sugar Love Baking Corp, and live demos showcasing the studio’s signature workouts. btone FITNESS features 12 custom reformers, and offers a Pilates-inspired hybrid workout designed for all fitness levels.

7. Infinity Aviation recently celebrated the opening of its remodeled private jet FBO terminal in Nashua (KASH).
