Tourism industry to honor Barba

Tourism industry leaders and professionals from throughout New Hampshire will gather March 29 at Church Landing at Mill Falls in Meredith to pay tribute to Steve Barba, former managing partner of the Balsams Grand Resort Hotel in Dixville Notch.

The March 29 event will be a celebration of Barba’s many contributions to the state, beginning with a formal presentation at 5:30 p.m. followed by a reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

“Steve Barba has made tens of thousands of people feel welcome in New Hampshire, at the Balsams, and as a leader in New Hampshire’s travel and tourism industry,” said Gov. John Lynch. “In addition to serving as a wonderful ambassador for our state, Steve is a committed citizen and business leader who has never hesitated to get involved to make New Hampshire a better place to live and work.”

Barba left the Balsams following its sale to Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts. He will become the executive director of university relations at Plymouth State University at the end of March.

Tickets to the March 29 tribute are $40 each. For more information or to reserve a ticket, contact the New Hampshire Travel Council at 665-9559 or director@nhtravelcouncil.com. — NHBR STAFF
