Target, Salvation Army aid flood victims
Retail giant Target and the Salvation Army have announced a partnership to aid the victims of New Hampshire’s October floods, hurricane survivors along the Gulf Coast, and other needy families.
Through Jan. 26, visitors to the Target/Salvation Army Wish List Web site (target.com/salvationarmy) can view and purchase essentials — everything from jeans and underwear to baby car seats to bath items — for those affected by recent disasters across the country.
Visitors to the site can choose from 13 regions, make their purchases, and the items will be shipped to the appropriate Salvation Army center for distribution to residents in the affected areas.
Links to make a direct monetary donation to the Salvation Army also are on the site.
One of the areas The Salvation Army has identified as most in need is Concord’s East Region distribution center, which serves parts of central and southwestern New Hampshire, including Alstead and Keene, hit hard by a series of floods in October. Clothing for adults and children, and baby items are in particular need on New Hampshire’s 700-item Wish List. Most of the supplies requested cost less than $20. — CINDY KIBBE
