Presstek earnings jump 27%

Presstek’s move to buy AB Dick and push its digital printing equipment into smaller shops has apparently paid off, according to preliminary fourth-quarter figures.

The Hudson-based company took in $68 million in the last quarter of 2005, a 27 percent increase over the same quarter in the previous year, the company reported. Audited figures, however, won’t be out until March.

Almost $43 million of that revenue is from digital sales, and digital press revenues increased more than 60 percent.

“This shows we have expanded our sales channels and are successfully pushing digital activity into this new market,” corporate relations manager Jane Miller told NHBR Daily. – BOB SANDERS
