Manchester firm on Inc. list

Cellular Specialties Incorporated of Manchester, a firm that designs, installs and manages in-building wireless networks, has been named to the Initiative for Competitive Inner Cities and Inc magazine’s “Inner City 100” list of fastest-growing companies in America’s inner-cities.

CSI was chosen from a field of 4,500 nominations this year. Companies named to this year’s list were ranked according to their five-year sales growth. CSI ranked 58th.

“We are please and excited to be acknowledged with this honor from ICIC and Inc. magazine,” said CSI President Bruce Wilson.

The compound growth rate of those named to the list was 53 percent. The average growth rate for the companies between 2000 and 2004 was 655 percent.

The award was presented at an April 19 celebration in Boston.

CSI and the other winners of the Inner City 100 awards will be further recognized in Inc.’s June edition.

CSI began in 1997 as part of the Amoskeag Small Business Incubator. Housed in Manchester’s Mill district, CSI now employs 75 people and has become an industry leader in the provision of turnkey wireless solutions. – TRACIE STONE
