Kassas, Solinsky named Entrepreneurs of Year
George Kassas, founder of Cedar Point Communications, and Kenneth Solinsky, founder of Insight Technology, were named co-winners Monday of the New Hampshire High Technology Council’s Entrepreneur of Year award.
The awards were presented by Gov. John Lynch during a reception at the Radisson Hotel-Center of New Hampshire in Manchester.
The award honors those who have made significant contributions to the advancement of high technology business in New Hampshire.
Kassas founded Derry-based Cedar Point in 2000 and helped to pioneer communications over the Internet utilizing the then-emerging technology of VoIP. In 2005, Cedar Point had over 250,000 subscribers using its technology, and employs over 50 people. According to the company, the recent release of VoIP telephone services by Comcast is bringing 20,000 subscribers a week.
“Being named Entrepreneur of the Year is a tremendous honor for me personally, but the real credit goes to our employees and their families,” said Kassas. “This award is first and foremost a reflection of the dedication that everyone at Cedar Point has demonstrated over the past six years.”
Solinsky founded Insight Technology in Londonderry in 1988. The company develops and manufactures specialized optical and tactical light systems for the military and law enforcement, and has over 770 employees. —CINDY KIBBE
