FTC chief to speak at BIA dinner

Deborah Platt Majoras, chair of the Federal Trade Commission, will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Business and Industry Association annual dinner.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Center of New Hampshire, Manchester.

Among the topics she will likely cover are Internet security, data protection, identity theft, emerging consumer protection issues and childhood obesity, the BIA said.

Majoras, who was sworn in as chair in August 2004, was a partner in the firm’s antitrust division.
