Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester has begun implementing new software that it says is a big step toward making the administration of medication safer.
The new software from Lenexa, Kan.-based Mediware Information Services Inc., “will allow for a more efficient and effective care process, and a higher level of medication management safety for those giving and receiving care,” said Marcia Montminy, Frisbie Memorial pharmacy director.
Frisbie Memorial’s medical community expects the WORx and MediMAR solutions to aid in the improvement of health outcomes and the quality of care received by patients.
“The eMAR solution will replace the standard hard-copy medication administration record in use at the patient bedside.” Montminy said, adding that the system “offers us a great opportunity to promote our initiative of eliminating medication errors through automation safeguards.” – TRACIE STONE
