The Workforce Opportunity Council has awarded nearly $15,000 in worker training grants to six New Hampshire companies.
The Workforce Development Training Fund grants will help upgrade skills of over 100 workers, said the council’s president, Michael Power.
The companies are: New England Wire Technologies of Lisbon, which received a $4,900 grant; Airex Corp. of Somersworth ($3,875); New Hampshire Ball Bearings Inc. and Graphicast, Inc., Jaffrey ($4,080): Firstmark Inc., Campton, ($922.50); and the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort, North Conway, $1,075.
The Workforce Opportunity Council training fund for 2006 totals $200,000 in matching funds to businesses. Last year’s training fund awarded grants to over 40 New Hampshire companies and provided skills training to over 450 incumbent workers.
