Female exec group praises Wellpoint
Wellpoint, parent company of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Hampshire, has been named for the seventh consecutive year to the list of top 30 companies for executive women by the National Association for Female Executives.
“We are delighted to receive this recognition once again as it reflects our ongoing commitment to provide career developmental and promotional opportunities for the talented women in our company,” said Larry C. Glasscock, chairman and CEO of Wellpoint. “These efforts build upon our overall initiative in attracting and engaging the best talent to create a unified high-performance culture.”
Companies named to the list must have at least two women on their board of directors and must complete a comprehensive application focused on the number of women in senior positions and the programs and policies the company promotes to support the advancement of women.
In addition to the number of women employed by companies being considered, NAFE reviewed the number of women in senior positions and on their board. It also looked at where women placed among the top earners.
Employee surveys, compensation review for gender equity and compensation policies for managers aiding in the advancement of women were all among trends shared by the top 30 companies according to NAFE. – TRACIE STONE
