Centrix earnings rise in ‘06

Centrix Bank reported strong earnings on Monday.

The Bedford-based bank posted $2.8 million in 2006 net income — 93 cents a diluted share — an increase of 25 percent from a year earlier. Net income for the fourth quarter was $786,000, or 26 cents per diluted share, a 10 percent increase over the last quarter of the previous year.

Total assets for 2006 were $52.5 million (a 19 percent increase), net loans were $250.1 million (a 27 percent increase) and total deposits of $257.3 million (a 16 percent increase).

Bank president Joseph Reilly credited the steady growth to focusing on small and medium-sized businesses and professionals in southern New Hampshire. – BOB SANDERS
