Bottomline, Ecora receive patents
Two Portsmouth-based businesses have been awarded patents by the Patent and Trademark Office.
Bottomline Technologies, maker of payment and invoice automation software and provider of financial security and efficiency processes, has received a patent for its payables automation technology, which enables customers to increase the efficiency of the purchase-to-pay circle with capabilities for end-to-end requisitions, invoice receipt, workflow and approval. Its ability to translate and reconcile data between parties addresses compatibility issues between accounting systems and invoice data formats of vendors and payers.
Ecora Software, maker of change and configuration management software for IT control, compliance and security, has been granted a patent for the process of automatically documenting configurable systems and generating change reports that can identify compliance-related problems.
The new patent automates the collection and reporting of thousands of configuration settings across a breadth of platforms, including operating systems, databases, applications and network devices. – TRACIE STONE
