Governor John Lynch announced Tuesday that he will nominate Manchester ad executive Mark Bodi as liquor commissioner at today’s Executive Council meeting.
Bodi, who has some 30 years of experience in marketing and public relations, is president of Griffin, Bodi & Krause, the state’s largest advertising and marketing firm. The Liquor Commission has been a client of the firm for several years.
He served three consecutive terms in the state House beginning in 1976.
In announcing the nomination, the governor said “has an exceptional background in business, marketing and promotional initiatives, and his expertise will be an asset to the commission.”
If confirmed Bodi will replace longtime commissioner John Byrne of North Hampton, who resigned March 21, citing a desire to pursue “other professional interests.”
Byrne, who served some 12 years on the commission, will leave April 15, six weeks before his six-year term was to expire.

After two choppy years for dealmakers, 2026 is starting with a very different tone, one that many business owners have been waiting for.
