Barba hired to lead PSU university relations
Steve Barba, the recently retired president and managing partner of the Balsams Grand Resort Hotel in Dixville Notch, has been named executive director of university relations at Plymouth State University.
Barba, who will take over his new post at the end of March, will oversee PSU’s government, community and public relations efforts, serving as the university’s spokesperson and ambassador to the governor’s office, Executive Council, U.S. and state senators and representatives. Barba also will work closely with the towns of Plymouth and Holderness as the university continues to build community bridges, said PSU President Donald Wharton.
Barba became co-manager of the Balsams over 30 years ago, and spent 25 years as president and managing partner of the famous resort. He currently serves on the boards of Citizens Bank, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, New Hampshire Community Technical College Foundation, New Hampshire Stories Inc., The Northern Forest Center and the New Hampshire Historical Society. Barba also sits on the Governor’s Job Corps Center Task Force and serves as a selectman in Dixville Notch. – NHBR STAFF
