BAE calculates N.H. economic impact
BAE Systems generated an economic impact of $522 million in the state of New Hampshire during 2005, the firm said in a press release issued Thursday.
The figure includes more than $107 million awarded in subcontracts and purchase orders to other New Hampshire-based businesses and $415 million disbursed in payroll to the more than 4,200 employees who live in the state, the company said.
The firm said its direct economic impact in New Hampshire is up $50 million from last year, when it awarded $81 million in subcontracts and purchase orders and disbursed $390 million in payroll.
In addition, the Nashua-based business and its employees contributed $2.9 million in cash and in-kind services to area civic, charitable, and educational institutions in 2005. – NHBR STAFF
