AutoFair CEO sells dealership interest

Dan Prior, chairman and CEO of the AutoFair Group car dealerships in Manchester, is selling his interest in the company.

Prior will sell his interest to AutoFair co-founder Walter Wick and Mark Schols, who has owned car dealerships in other states, most recently in Tennessee.

Sale price was not disclosed, and the deal is subject to automobile manufacturers’ approval.

AutoFair is the largest dealership New Hampshire-based dealership group, with 2005 revenues of over $300 million and some 300 employees.

“Dan has built this company to become one of the largest in New Hampshire, and we’re all thankful for his leadership,” said Wick.

The 43-year-old Schols has owned and operated successful dealerships in Florida, Tennessee, California and Kentucky. He and his wife Michele, as well as their daughters Ashley and Taylor, are relocating to Bedford, from College Grove, Tenn.

Prior, 57, said he is retiring and will pursue his longtime interest in international travel. – JEFF FEINGOLD
