AARP seeks ‘best employers’
The deadline for nominations is March 20 for businesses business looking to be named to AARP’s “Best Employers for Workers 50+” list.
Employers that offer workplace practices and policies that greatly benefit these workers are encouraged to apply.
Companies, nonprofit organizations and educational institutions with 50 or more employees are eligible to apply. Now entering its sixth year, the Best Employers search honored 50 employers last year. Especially appealing to workers over 50 are training and learning opportunities, flexible work schedules, and continuing opportunities for advancement, said Dick Chevrefils, AARP New Hampshire state director.
“We recognize that the future workforce will depend on 50+ workers, which is why AARP has embarked on honoring and highlighting exemplary policies and practices for workers 50+,” he said.
According to Chevrefils, there are 97,000 55-to-64-year-olds working in New Hampshire and another 22,000 workers who are 65 and over.
Winners will be honored at a recognition dinner Sept. 21 in Chicago, followed by a “Best Practices and Solutions” forum on Sept. 22.
