Boys & Girls Club to hold field day

MILFORD – The first big public event at the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley’s new home will be held today, in the form of a free field day celebration.

The event will feature races, raffles, a bicycle clinic, face painting, food and games. It will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the former American Stage Festival theater, about a half-mile north of the Oval on Route 13, Mont Vernon Street.

The Boys & Girls Club, which bought the facility two years ago after the ASF went bankrupt, is planning a multi-million-dollar renovation to create a regional facility for youth with everything from study rooms to a gym. It will also incorporate the theater for community plays.
