Economist Ross Gittell, a professor of management at the University of New Hampshire, will be among those outlining the economic development challenges and opportunities facing the Seacoast region at a regional summit set for next week.
The summit, “Maine and New Hampshire: Looking Beyond the Shipyard — Finding the Common Ground On Which to Advance Our Regional Economy,” will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Sheraton Harborside Hotel in Portsmouth.
Gittell and Charles Colgan, professor at the University of Southern Maine will discuss their findings about the economic development future of the region. Also taking part will be New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch, Maine Gov. John Baldacci, former Maine Gov. Angus King and author Neal Peirce, a nationally syndicated columnist, and chairman of Citistates.
There is no charge to attend, but reservations are required by Sept. 6.
