New state law empowers homeowners with ‘balcony’ solar panels
With a new state law set to go into effect with the dawn of a new year in 2027, Granite Staters will be able to install so-called “balcony solar” panels for home use.
White Mountains expands coverage
White Mountains Insurance Group’s major subsidiary is expanding its coverage, both geographically and in scope.
OneBeacon Insurance Group announced on Monday that it would begin offering liability insurance to smaller banks and attorney offices. The coverage will target community banks with fewer than $3 billion or less of assets and firms employing fewer than 150 attorneys.
OneBeacon also announced last week that it has entered into an agreement with Houston General Insurance Exchange to offer auto, homeowner and other package solutions. OneBeacon currently primarily services the Northeast. Houston General is based in Arizona, but plans to expand into other southwestern states.
OneBeacon, which is based in Boston, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bermuda-based White Mountains, whose U.S. headquarters are in Hanover. — NHBR STAFF
