The state’s 65-and-over population will grow from 12 percent to more than 21 percent of the state’s total population between 2000 and 2030, according to the New Hampshire Department of Employment Security.

While New Hampshire’s elderly population is expected to increase, its 18-to-24-year -old population is expected to decline, leaving the state to face a decline in labor market entrants.
