UNH plans engineering career fair
Employers are being invited to participate in a March 1, 2006, career and internship fair for students in engineering, science and technology programs at the University of New Hampshire.
Organized by UNH’s Advising and Career Center, the career fair is designed to give employers an opportunity to meet and interview undergraduate and graduate students interested in attaining internship experience and jobs after graduation. More than 300 students are expected to attend.
Bethany Cooper, manager of employer relations and recruiting at the career center, said employers also will get the opportunity to meet with faculty who attend the event to learn more about industry trends and staffing needs.
“UNH students are eager to line up opportunities at local and national biotech and pharmaceutical organizations, engineering firms and high-tech companies,” said Cooper. “The job search process seems to begin earlier and earlier each year. Graduating seniors are focused on landing a job offer now for May, while underclass students are eager to gain real-world experience doing summer internships.”
Students develop resumes and interviewing skills in preparation for the job and internship search process at career seminars sponsored by UACC.
