EDUCATION

Terri L. Pastori, founder and managing partner of Pastori | Krans, PLLC, has been appointed to the board of trustees of The Derryfield School. Founded in 1964, The Derryfield School is an independent college preparatory school known for its academics, arts program, championship athletic teams and commitment to community engagement.

The Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) has been selected for a $25,000 grant from the Metallica Scholars Initiative (MSI) to enhance the Culinary Arts & Sustainable Foodways program at Great Bay Community College (GBCC).

The New Hampshire Senate has recognized Bedford Academy’s FIRST LEGO League teams for outstanding accomplishments in robotics and STEM education — the only elementary school named to the 2026 Inspire the Future: FIRST Recognition Program, a cohort of just 15 schools worldwide. The teams were led by teacher Emily Dellisola, herself the 2026 recipient of the NSPENH STEM Excellence in Teaching Award.

The Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications will host its annual First Amendment Awards Event on September 21, 2026, which will feature keynote speaker Pete Buttigieg, who served as U.S. Secretary of Transportation from 2021 to 2025. Previously, he served two terms as mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and was an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve for seven years, deploying to Afghanistan in 2014. The event will also recognize Howard Brodsky, chair and cofounder of CCA Global Partners, with the Quill & Ink Award for his longstanding commitment to advancing First Amendment education in New Hampshire. He and his late son, Jeffrey, founded the annual Brodsky Prize for Excellence in High School Journalism in 2018.

A new statewide partnership led by the University of New Hampshire’s T2 Center is bringing together employers, educators, workforce organizations and public agencies to strengthen New Hampshire’s highway construction workforce and build a stronger pipeline of future transportation professionals. The NH Highway Construction Workforce Partnership (NH HCWP) will coordinate statewide efforts to increase career awareness, expand workforce training, and connect job seekers with careers in highway construction and maintenance.

RETAIL

NH Liquor & Wine Outlets has climbed to No. 3 in Beverage Dynamics’ annual Top 100 Retailers Awards, which recognize leading retailers, such as liquor stores or supermarket chains, that demonstrate innovation, excellent customer service and superior beverage alcohol industry knowledge.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

The Guyton Group Principal and Founder Joseph Guyton has been named to Forbes’ annual list of America’s Top Financial Security Professionals as one of the top financial security professionals in the state of New Hampshire. Guyton works with clients on long-term planning, family wealth-building, business exit strategy, retirement income planning, life and disability insurance choices, and estate planning decisions.

Merrimack County Savings Bank (The Merrimack) has welcomed Irene Skarlatos as branch and business development manager of its Nashua Branch. Skarlatos, who previously served as a universal banker at the branch, will oversee daily operations and focus on developing and maintaining community connections. After operating in Manchester for 28 years, Sweeney Financial Advisors, an independent advisory firm, has relocated its office to Bedford. The firm’s ownership, advisors, staff and commitment to personalized service remain unchanged.

River Run Bancorp’s three affiliated banks — Newburyport Bank, Pentucket Bank and Rollstone Bank & Trust — awarded a combined 33 scholarships, most valued at $2,000 each, to graduating students through the inaugural River Run Opportunity Awards Program. Recipients included graduates of local public, vocational and technical schools throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts entering both higher education and full-time careers in the trades.

Yolanda “Lannie” Moffatt has been selected as Bangor Savings Bank’s next president and CEO, succeeding Bob Montgomery-Rice, who plans to retire on September 1 after more than 20 years of service to the Bank. Moffatt brings more than 30 years of financial services experience to the role, including nearly 20 years at Bangor Savings Bank, most recently serving as EVP and COO.

Ledyard Bank has welcomed Daniel J. Bailey to the organization as chief information officer, bringing more than two decades of technology leadership experience across banking, higher education and military service. He most recently served as SVP and chief information officer at Salem Co-operative Bank, where he was responsible for technology strategy, cybersecurity, vendor management and core systems oversight.

Baker Newman Noyes has announced four senior-level promotions in its Manchester and Portsmouth offices, and an additional five promotions for experienced staff. Manchester promotions include: Madeline Moynihan, senior manager in the Tax practice; Harrison Murphy, manager in the Tax practice; and Alexis DeBlois, Nikolaos Gavrielides and Nathan Newton have been promoted to the role of senior in the Assurance practice. Portsmouth promotions include: Megan Elwell, manager in the Assurance practice; Meghan Yarosewick, manager in the Business and Technology Advisory practice; Matthew Fernandes, technical solutions analyst in the IT Department; and Emily Lynch, senior in the Tax practice.

HEALTHCARE

Lamprey Health Care has received three 2026 HRSA Community Health Quality Recognition badges and achieved NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition. The organization was awarded in the categories of Health Center Quality Leader (Gold), National Quality Leader (Behavioral Health) and Advancing Health Information Technology.

The New Hampshire Children’s Health Foundation has named Deborah H. Fournier, JD, as its new program officer of strategy and collective impact. Fournier most recently served as director of health law and policy at UNH’s Institute for Health Policy & Practice, and has over 20 years of experience working in health policy, Medicaid, public health and healthcare financing.

Concord Hospital Health System (CHHS) has once again earned national recognition from the American Heart Association (AHA) for its commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based stroke care.

Concord Hospital, Concord Hospital – Franklin and Concord Hospital – Laconia each received 2026 Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) stroke achievement awards, recognizing the staff’s dedication to following the latest clinical guidelines and improving outcomes for patients experiencing stroke.

Scott A. Wolf, DO, MPH, FACP, a physician executive with more than three decades of healthcare leadership experience, has launched North-Wolf Advisory, an independent healthcare leadership advisory firm dedicated to helping healthcare organizations develop stronger leaders, strengthen executive teams and navigate organizational change with confidence. Dr. Wolf has served as president of Southern New Hampshire Health, president of Mercy Medical Center, VP of operations and chief physician executive for Lee Health, chief medical officer and chief operating officer within regional health systems, and most recently as a physician executive with Berkeley Research Group.

REAL ESTATE

Cathartes and Tidemark announced that their new luxury waterfront apartment homes will become available this fall in Portsmouth’s West End. Located at 75, 85 and 95 Addorio Way in Portsmouth, Marlo on Mill Pond will feature 151 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Construction of the area also includes a public park and path along the water named the North Mill Pond Greenway Trail.

Marcus Partners, a real estate investment, management and development firm, has acquired 6 Industrial Way in Salem, NH, a 155,000-square-foot warehouse/distribution property. The building features class-A specifications: 40-foot clear height, 3,000 amps of power, ESFR sprinkler, and up to 28 dock-high doors. The property is partially leased to a defense contractor who is headquartered in southern New Hampshire, with the remaining vacancies to be marketed by CBRE.

Accurate Title welcomed attorney Jacqueline M. Hudkins and her team of title professionals to the firm’s growing footprint with additional offices in New London and Keene. Hudkins brings more than two decades of legal, business and project leadership experience to Accurate Title, where she will serve as VP of The Hudkins Group at Accurate Title. A real estate attorney and founder of Hudkins Law & Title, Hudkins has also served as an educator, author and thought leader.

Portside Real Estate Group, Northern New England’s leading independent real estate brokerage, has entered into a partnership with the Howard Hanna family of companies, the country’s largest independently owned and operated real estate brokerage. Among the new resources the partnership brings is medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance for agents, along with a 401(k) retirement plan.

ENERGY

ReVision Energy, the employee-owned solar company founded in 2003, has been recognized as the No. 1 solar contractor in New Hampshire and Maine on Solar Power World’s 2026 Top Solar Installers list. The company also earned the distinction of being the No. 5 solar installer in the United States and the No. 1 solar installer in New England, reflecting its continued leadership across residential, commercial, community solar and utility-scale markets throughout the Northeast. In addition, ReVision Energy was ranked the No. 1 Solar + Storage Installer in New England and No. 13 on Solar Power World’s 2026 Top Solar + Storage Installers list nationwide, underscoring the company’s growing role in helping customers strengthen energy independence and resilience through integrated clean energy solutions like backup battery storage.

HOSPITALITY

Anna’s Taqueria — a homegrown Boston brand that delivers high-quality burritos, tacos and quesadillas and more since 1995 — will open its first location in New Hampshire on August 11 at Fort Eddy Plaza in Concord. Beginning August 11, Anna’s Taqueria will be open daily from 10 a.m. through 10 p.m.

Castle in the Clouds has hired Kate Armenio as director of business operations, bringing with her over 25 years in the restaurant industry, the last 10 in hospitality management. She previously served as the general manager of the North Conway location of Sap House Meadery and the Public House on Page Hill in Tamworth.

NONPROFITS

The Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire, in partnership with the MDEIB Coalition and the Historical Society of Cheshire County, has announced the installation of a Black Heritage Trail of NH historic marker in Keene, honoring Dr. Albert C. Johnston. Johnston was an African American physician who lived as white in northern New England during the mid-20th century to overcome racial barriers that limited professional and social opportunities. After being denied a U.S. Navy commission during World War II because of his racial background, Johnston publicly revealed his identity, challenging assumptions about race in a predominantly white community. An unveiling of the marker will be held on August 15 at 127 Washington Street in Keene.

CATCH Neighborhood Housing has received an operating grant of $60,000 over two years from the NH Charitable Foundation in support of CATCH’s affordable housing development initiatives.

CATCH is currently working to advance affordable workforce housing developments in Penacook, Warner and Concord, including one specifically for adults with developmental disabilities, a population most at risk of homelessness here in New Hampshire. The Moore Center, a Manchester-based nonprofit serving individuals with developmental, intellectual disabilities and acquired brain disorders as well as children and senior citizens, hired Mahesh Bhatia as chief financial officer. A certified public accountant, Bhatia previously served in senior financial leadership roles across nonprofit and corporate organizations in the U.S., Canada, the United Arab Emirates and India.

MEDIA

New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR) has named Rebecca Lavoie, a 16-year NHPR veteran and nationally recognized podcast producer and host, as chief content officer. In addition, Dan Barrick, NHPR’s news director since 2016, has been promoted to vice president of news.


Bruce Berke to be honored by BIA

Bruce Berke will be the second recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Whelen Engineering, to be presented at the Business & Industry Association of NH’s 113th Annual Dinner on October 14. Berke is the founder of Sheehan Phinney Capitol Group, where he serves as president and managing partner, and is one of the longest-tenured lobbyists in Concord, with over 40 years at the State House, beginning as a legislative staffer to the NH House Majority Leader in 1982 and launching his lobbying career in 1988 as Legislative Counsel to the BIA. Over his career he has represented clients on issues ranging from taxation and environmental regulation to electric utility restructuring and health policy, served as the business and tourism community’s representative to the Governor’s Economic Re- Opening Task Force during the Covid-19 State of Emergency, and was named to NH Business Review’s “New Hampshire 200” list of the state’s most influential business leaders in 2022.
