SkillSoft has sold its FinancialCampus unit to financial services training company SmartPros for an undisclosed price.
Both the Nashua-based e-trainer SkillSoft and SmartPros of Hawthorne, N.Y., have experienced significant growth in the last few years through the acquisition of other training firms.
FinancialCampus came to SkillSoft as part of its acquisition of NETg, a former Thompson Corp. unit.
FinancialCampus features online programs and courses FOR financial services professionals, with a catalog of over 250 accredited online courses representing more than 16,000 hours of approved insurance continuing education credits across all state regulatory bodies and various professional designations in financial services.
FinancialCampus will move its operations from Nashua to SmartPros’ headquarters in Hawthorne, N.Y. Senior management and other key employees will become employees of SmartPros, according to a release by the company. – CINDY KIBBE
