Skillsoft acquires Thompson Learning unit

Skillsoft PLC has purchased Thompson NETg from Thompson Learning Inc., a Stamford, Conn.-based company, for $285 million in cash and stock.

Thompson NETg produces a suite of e-learning and testing tools for information techology professionals.

Nashua-based Skillsoft is a provider of e-learing resources with over $215 million in revenues in 2005. — CINDY KIBBE
