Pennsylvania firm to purchase Manchester School
Weston Solutions, an environmental and redevelopment firm headquartered in Pennsylvania, announced Wednesday it ti plans to purchase the historic Ash Street School property in Manchester.
According to a statement released by Weston, the employee-owned company entered into a purchase and sale agreement with the city of Manchester to acquire the Bridge Street property pending successful completion of the due diligence process, which will include a thorough study of the property’s redevelopment opportunities. Weston will occupy the building upon completion.
“Weston is thrilled to be selected as the new owner and caretaker of this historically significant property in the heart of Manchester,” said Donald “Buzz” Grogan, vice president and Northeast division manager of Weston Solutions, Inc. “We look forward to completing our review of the former Ash Street School and to making it a showcase to house our staff of more than 80 professionals.”
According to Grogan, the historic significance of the 132-year-old building fits well with the company’s “integrated redevelopment strategy and mission.”
The planned redevelopment of the 16,000-square-foot structure and its 1.32 acres will be in accordance to the historical preservation requirements, city codes and principles of sustainable “green” standards, Grogan said.
