NH Business Review wins two awards in national contest

Publication wins for Best Investigative, Best Explanatory Journalism

NH Business Review took home two awards Saturday in a national business journalism contest.

The publication won Silver Awards in two categories of the Alliance of Area Business Publishers’ annual Editorial Excellence Awards competition. The awards were presented at the annual AABP conference, held this year in Atlanta, Ga.

One of the awards, for Best Explanatory Journalism in the Small Publication category, was for the article, “The Other New Hampshire”,written by Michael Kitch, that appeared in the Sept. 25-Oct. 7, 2018 issue of NH Business Review. The article provided a detailed look at the state’s 19 largest property-poor communities.

The other award, for Best Investigative Journalism, was for the article, “Hernia mesh litigation mounts”, written by Bob Sanders, which appeared in the Feb. 2-13, 2018, issue of NH Business Review. It looked at the hundreds of lawsuits filed against a New Hampshire medical device manufacturer over its hernia mesh products.

In May, the publication took home five awards in the New Hampshire Press Association’s Distinguished Journalism Contest, including Best Non-Daily Newspaper.
