Loan Fund wins national recognition

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund is one of four community development finance programs from across the United States honored last week by Wachovia Corporation and National Community Capital Association for their efforts to provide jobs, low-income housing and vitally needed community facilities for “communities of opportunity” in New Hampshire.

Among its accomplishments, the Community Loan Fund pioneered the financing of manufactured housing parks to enable residents to buy their parks, and then increased its reach by offering fair mortgages to homeowners in resident-owned parks, and developing a model manufactured housing community.

The sixth annual Wachovia CDFI Excellence Awards are presented by the National Community Capital Association to honor leaders in the field of community development who have demonstrated excellence in their efforts to service communities of opportunity.

“We are honored to have our work recognized by NCCA and the Wachovia Corporation. We’re particularly pleased by their focus on our 23-year effort to transform the manufactured housing sector into a source of long-term affordable housing and stability for families.” said Juliana Eades, president of the Loan Fund.

The CDFI Excellence Award for Innovation comes with a $1,000 prize. – NHBR STAFF REPORT
