Got gas, Lyndeborough?

There hasn’t been a gas station in Lyndeborough for more than 20 years – the pumps at The Little Store on Route 31 just west of the school closed in the early 1980s – but there may be a new one soon.

Scott and Janet Quilty, owners of a lot on Route 31 and Winn Road, want to build a gas station/ convenience store on the site. The first of at least two public hearings, a request to the Zoning Board of Adjustment for a special exception from dimensional requirements, was held on Tuesday.

The Planning Board has scheduled a public hearing in Citizens’ Hall next Thursday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m.

As presented to the Planning Board last summer, the Quiltys’ plan calls for a Gulf station with a convenience store and two gas pumps and one diesel pump. It would also sell kerosene.
