Bentley adds another Ireland deal
Bentley Pharmaceuticals made further headway into the Irish market early this week, a move that caused its stock price to jump on Monday.
The Exeter-based drug delivery company’s Irish subsidiary – Bentley Pharmaceuticals Ireland Ltd. — received approval to market generic Omeprazole in Ireland. Omeprazole treats acid-related stomach disorders.
The company’s Spanish subsidiary, Laboratorios Davur, entered into an agreement with the Irish-based Consilient Health Ltd. to distribute the drug throughout the United Kingdom. Laboratorios Belmac SA, another Bentley subsidiary in Spain will manufacture the drug.
On Monday, after the approval was announced, shares gained more than $2 to peak at $17.92 a share. — BOB SANDERS
