‘A great opportunity to show your support’: NH Gives 24-hour online fundraiser returns
Over 600 nonprofits from across the state are participating
NH Gives, New Hampshire’s largest online fundraising event for nonprofits, returns Tuesday and Wednesday, June 6-7, giving Granite Staters the opportunity to support hundreds of nonprofit organizations doing essential work in New Hampshire communities.
Last year, more than 13,000 people donated $3.5 million to 575 nonprofit organizations in the event’s 24 hours. This year, a record-breaking 613 nonprofit organizations will participate, sharing their stories of impact and asking Granite Staters to pitch in to help fund critical work across the state.
NHGives.org is an easy-to-use, secure platform that provides information on the impact made by New Hampshire nonprofits and allows donations to be made directly to an organization.
People can choose from more than 600 nonprofits to support and take advantage of more than $850,000 in matching funds to increase the impact of their contributions.
For 24 hours, between 5 p.m. June 6 and 5 p.m. June 7, donations will be tallied as participating nonprofit organizations compete for additional cash prizes, with leaderboards displaying progress.
“We are inviting people across New Hampshire to join us on June 6 and 7 as we celebrate and support the nonprofit organizations that enrich our lives and keep our communities strong,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the NH Center for Nonprofits. “NH Gives makes it easy and fun for people to donate to causes they care about, as well as discover organizations that might be new to them.”
Since its launch in 2016, the event has raised over $12 million for 1,000 New Hampshire nonprofits. In the last three years alone, NH Gives has raised over $10 million.
“New Hampshire asks a lot of our nonprofit sector. And in the past few years, we have asked for even more,” said Richard Ober, president and CEO of the NH Charitable Foundation and lead sponsor of NH Gives. “NH Gives is a great opportunity to show your support for the hundreds of organizations that provide the thousands of services and programs that make New Hampshire better for all of us.”
To encourage more people to give during the 24-hour event, the Charitable Foundation and its donors will offer $30,000 in “Power of Community” awards to the organizations that have the highest number of unique online donors over the 24 hours and as part of the total $850,000 in matching funds for the event will offer more than $200,000 in sitewide, regional and nonprofit matches
