One of the nation’s largest insurance companies has entered into an agreement with one of the world’s largest technology firms.
Connecticut General Life Insurance Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cigna Corp. of Philadelphia, Pa., has signed a contract worth $723.5 million over seven years for information technology services to be provided by IBM.
According to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission dated Sept. 28 but posted more recently, the scope of work stipulated in five separate statements of work includes services for Connecticut General’s contact center application, enterprise content management, risk-based capital infrastructure, voice and data communications and network and information technology strategy. The contract is effective this month and is renewable for up to two years.
