Nursing home honored for being deficiency-free

The Grafton County Nursing Home was found to have zero deficiencies in a recent annual survey by the state Department of Health and Human Services.

HHS officials reported that they found no deficiencies in the nursing home’s patient care, bookkeeping or physical environment.

“We commend the Grafton County Nursing Home, its administrator, Eileen Bolander, and the staff for their great dedication to, not only the quality of care, but the quality of life, that is so extremely important with nursing-home level of care,” said HHS Commissioner John Stephen. “In the past, we focused on quality of care in our inspects. Today, we are trying to also look at quality of life issues. And that is what this facility does best. I feel it’s very important to recognize facilities that are deficiency-free. Our hats are off to them.”

Commissioner Stephen will join Executive Councilor Ray Burton, county officials, patients and workers for an award ceremony at 2 p.m. today at the nursing home in North Haverhill. — CINDY KIBBE
