Badger Peabody & Smith Realty relocates to 603 Main Street in Gorham

Badgerpeabodysmith Realty 603 Main St Gorham

Badger Peabody & Smith Realty was previously located at 180 Main Street in Berlin. The office has relocated to 603 Main Street in Gorham, a location closer to retail traffic in a newly redesigned office building.

Broker/Owner Andy Smith said, “We really wanted to find a location between both Berlin and Gorham that would be easy for our sellers and buyers to get to. When the opportunity came to purchase the existing building at 603 Main Street, we couldn’t resist. With eight offices throughout the ‘603,’ the address as well seemed perfect. It all came together so well.”

The building was renovated by Phil Chabot, an experienced contractor in Berlin. Chabot had been the original builder of the building in 2007.

Smith added, “Phil and his team did a great job. They obviously understood the building and were able to renovate the space to meet our needs by creating a conference room, spacious offices for all the agents, a well-functioning reception area and more. We are looking forward to meeting clients and customers in our new location.”

Agents and staff at the Berlin/Gorham office include Don Lapointe, Jeff Gagnon, Kate Frisk, Pranee Powers, Executive Assistant Rhonda Lapointe and Managing Broker Brendan Battenfelder.

According to statistics from the Prime MLS, the Berlin/Gorham office of Badger Peabody & Smith Realty worked on over 136 transactions throughout 2023 with grand total sales over $27 million dollars.

Smith added, “When we look at transaction numbers, to us it shows just how many sellers and buyers our agents helped in a year. They helped people sell their properties, assisted new homeowners and more. For us, it is such a rewarding career, and our agents do a great job— they are professionals at negotiation, they are experts at marketing properties, and they go above and beyond for the sellers and buyers. We are looking forward to another stellar year in this new office location.”

Ruais: Grants are ‘just the beginning’ of our work to make housing affordable for residents

Manchester mayor recently announced the receipt of two significant grants from the State of New Hampshire, aimed at supporting the development of affordable housing in the city of Manchester.

The most recent grants totaling $1.42 million, have been awarded for two essential affordable housing projects. The first project, located at 351 Chestnut St., is set to create 98 affordable housing units, while the second project at 345 Chestnut St., will contribute an additional 44 affordable units to the community.

In addition to these recent grants, the state has previously awarded $230,000 for two smaller projects, demonstrating an ongoing partnership and shared commitment to improving housing affordability within the city.

Mayor Ruais expressed gratitude for the New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs’ support, saying, “These grants are a testament to the collaborative efforts between the State of New Hampshire and the City of Manchester to make affordable housing a reality for our residents. Within these funds, we can continue to build a stronger community and these grants are just the beginning of our work to make housing affordable for our residents.”

“I would also like to thank the Manchester Planning and Community Development Department for all of their hard work over the last year to make this project happen for the city.”

The combined award of $1.65 million will play a crucial role in advancing our city’s mission to provide quality, affordable housing options for our residents. The projects at 345 and 351 Chestnut Street represent significant strides toward meeting the city’s housing goals. — Manchester Ink Link
