MERRIMACK – Two Bedford residents were injured Friday night in two separate, but related crashes on the F.E. Everett Turnpike near Exit 10 in the northbound high-speed lane. Both injured residents were driving.
One of the drivers was charged with driving under the influence.
State trooper Sean O’Leary said Paul Albino was driving his 1995 Chevy Impala onto the turnpike from Industrial Drive at 10:05 p.m. when he lost control and the vehicle crossed the median strip, crashing head-on into the Jersey barrier.
Albino, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by ambulance to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester and later charged with DUI.
Dawn Pariseau was driving a Dodge Intrepid in the high-speed lane and was unable to stop in time to avoid Albino’s vehicle, which was not visible following his first crash due to lost power.
She was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua with minor injuries, O’Leary said.
