WHOB event to help hospital

SALEM – A four-day, 40-hour radio-thon run by WHOB will benefit patients at Children’s Hospital in Boston.

WHOB will broadcast from the Wal-Mart store in Salem today through Sunday, raising money for Children’s Hospital. Pledges will benefit the hospital’s neediest areas in patient care, research and community outreach.

WHOB listeners will be invited to make pledges to Children’s during the radio-thon, which will run from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. today and Friday, and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, on Saturday listeners are invited to meet their favorite deejays at Wal-Mart and purchase Krispy Kreme doughnuts, with proceeds benefiting the hospital.

Kids can participate in face painting, and play in a bounce house in the parking lot.
