Trading platform makes bitcoin available through national banks

BitQuick works with Bank of America, Citizens Bank and Union Bank

New Hampshire residents can now readily access bitcoin via a national bank branch. BitQuick, a peer-to-peer bitcoin trading platform based out of the Midwest, allows consumers to purchase or sell bitcoin in a more traditional setting, as opposed to a limited number of bitcoin ATMs.

In New Hampshire, users can place their bitcoin order via BitQuick’s website then visit Bank of America, Citizens Bank or Union Bank to pay for their order.

House Bill 436, which was signed in June, went into effect yesterday, allowing bitcoin to be purchased after a two-year hiatus. The bill also exempts digital currency platforms from money transmission regulations.

BitQuick is one of the first platforms to offer Granite Staters an accessible way to purchase or sell bitcoin. Otherwise, users have the option of visiting one of four bitcoin ATMs in the state, located at Murphys Taproom in Manchester, Route 101 Local Goods in Keene, Area 23 in Concord and Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth. Coin ATM Radar provides information about each ATM location, including if the ATM is temporarily down.

BitQuick acts as a third-party intermediary and escrow provider, offering gurantees for buyers and sellers.

“We’re thrilled to welcome New Hampshire customers to BitQuick,” said Chad Davis, director of operations for BitQuick. The platform is very user-friendly, is readily available at multiple locations and will enable customers to purchase bitcoins quickly and easily.
