Kassler named CMO at analytics software firm, TechWomen awards nominees sought … and more

Dr. William Kassler, most recently deputy chief health officer and chief medical officer of Government Health and Human Services at IBM Watson Health, has been. named chief medical officer of Palantir, the Peter Theil-chaired developer of analytics software. Kassler, who also is former chief medical officer at the New England regional office of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and before that was president of the New Hampshire Medical Society, will lead Palantir’s public health and life sciences teams, which develop analytics platforms for government, commercial and international clients.

The NH Tech Alliance is seeking nominations for its annual TechWomen awards, which recognize women “who are driving innovation, influencing technology companies snd are passionate about the technology community here in our state.” Nominees should be women who have been effective in supporting STEM/technology education or further the advancement of women and girls in the tech sector as a student, teacher or professional. The awards will be presented aet the sixth annual TechWomen Annual Luncheon, which will be held virtually this year on June 23.

U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-NH, has joined four of her colleagues in reintroducing the Rural STEM Education Act, which would help improve broadband in rural communities in order to expand access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and job training. Among the bill’s provision is establishment of a prize competition to encourage innovative ideas to deploy broadband connectivity to rural communities and a grants program to support training for STEM teachers in rural schools, conduct research to identify barriers rural students face in STEM education, and establish partnerships between community colleges and rural high schools.

Shipt, an Alabama-based delivery service owned by Target Corp., has launched same-day delivery in the Seacoast area. Retailers offering same-day delivery from Shipt to Seacoast residents include CVS, Petco and Target. Shipt requires an annual membership that guarantees free delivery on all orders over $35.

Bellwether Community Credit Union, Manchester, has added ClickSWITCH, an automated account-switching platform that helps members and potential members open and direct existing automated debits and credits to a new Bellwether account. “Moving from a manual account opening process to the fully automated and simple-to-use ClickSWITCH platform was the best choice for us,” said Jeff Benson, chief operating officer of Bellwether Community Credit Union.
