RoboticfleetPortsmouth Regional Hospital Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon Akhil Sastry, MD (center) – a MAKO Robotics Master Surgeon with PRH’s Robotic Surgery service line – led a robotics training at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, helping to facilitate the launch of their MAKO robotics program. He trained eight surgeons to prepare for their first robotic knee surgery and will train an additional group of surgeons later in August. Robotic surgery is an advanced technique that allows surgeons to perform complicated procedures through one or more very small incisions. A high-definition, 3D camera provides a magnified view of the surgical area and computer technology translates your surgeon’s hand movements into precise motions of the instruments.

 

Chuck Valley, an experienced electrical field sales engineer with decades of success in the semiconductor and microelectronic sectors, has been appointed vice president of sales at Monzite in Nashua, a division of Omni-Lite Industries Inc. Monzite builds high-performance microelectronic components and subsystems for the aerospace, defense, industrial automation, medical device and other advanced sectors. In this newly created position, Valley will oversee sales of the company’s proprietary product lines and its contract manufacturing and testing services. Prior to joining Monzite, Valley worked for 15 years at Linear Technologies, staying on with the company when it was acquired by Analog Devices in 2017.

 

Waypoint Robotics, a Nashua-based developer and manufacturer of autonomous, industrial-strength mobile robots, has partnered with Cincinnati-based  AHS (Advanced Handling Systems) LLC, announce a new systems integrator partnership. As a select Waypoint Certified Systems Integrator, AHS will be able to offer Waypoint’s full fleet of industrial-strength, omnidirectional AMRs to its valued customer base as part of a fully integrated automated material handling solution. Waypoint AMRs & accessories will be available for purchase immediately through AHS.  For in-person or remote demos, AHS will have Waypoint AMRs on-site at their Innovation Lab in Cincinnati, OH.
