Spartans plan open house
NASHUA – The Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps will host an open house Sunday from noon-4 p.m. at Spartans Hall, 73 E. Hollis St.
Students who are in high school or college and under 21 are welcome with their parents to attend an orientation session to get information on the group’s 50th anniversary season in 2005.
Available positions in the corps are limited. Younger and less experienced musicians wanting to belong to the Spartans will also have an opportunity to participate in the Spartans’ Cadet program.
The Cadet program will consist mostly of students in grades 6-9, as well as some older students.
The Spartans won the Division II/III grand finals of the Drum Corps International competition in Denver over the summer.
Membership is expected to be much larger this year due to the corps’ success.
The board of directors and staff voted to open the membership to more students and offer more positions in the 50th anniversary season.
This is another factor in reinstating the Cadet program.
