Rochester-based Everlasting Capital named to Inc. 500

21 other New Hampshire companies listed on Inc. 5000

Rochester-based Everlasting Capital is the only Granite State company to place on Inc. Magazine’s list of the 500 fastest-growing companies in 2017, although 21 other New Hampshire firms made their way onto Inc.’s list of the 5,000 fastest-growing firms in the U.S.

The commercial finance solutions provider was listed at No. 323 on the list. According to Inc., Everlasting, which was founded in 2012, has grown 1,360 percent over the past three years and earned $2.1 million in annual revenue.

“Everlasting Capital is honored to receive prominent recognition as a 2017 Inc. 500 fastest-growing private company,” said Will Murphy, chief operating officer at the firm. “We are especially grateful to be No. 1 in New Hampshire and 17 among those designated in the U.S. financial sector.”

Everlasting Capital provides financing to businesses by purchasing future receivables at a discounted price. The company examines merchant and bank statements to predict a company’s revenue stream in the next six months or longer period. Eligible businesses must have been in business for at least three months with $15,000 in monthly revenue.

“We disrupt the normal banking market,” said Murphy. “We built a streamline process for small businesses that need access to capital.”

Murphy says Everlasting Capital’s application process takes only four hours, rather than weeks to months at a bank. Everlasting Capital uses financial technology to input the data and determine a risk factor.

“Our default rate is 7.5 percent over the last five years so that’s very, very low,” said Murphy. “We make sure these businesses can afford to pay us back, and it works for the businesses,” some of which are repeat customers.

“The demand is out there,” said Murphy, when asked if businesses are seeking capital. “If it’s properly put in place, these businesses can thrive.”

Murphy attributed the rapid growth to building the company on a solid foundation, with built-in systems and a teamwork attitude.

The company employs 11 people at its office in Rochester, but Murphy said the pool of potential hires is small in New Hampshire and makes hiring the right employees challenging, though his company has seen success through focusing on daily employee training.

“If we moved down to Boston, we’d probably have 50 to 60 employees,” said Murphy. “We have to work with what we have. We’ve brought in people from an hour away, but at the end of the day, they’re still driving an hour.”
