Harvey-Smith to take post at Texas college
Alicia Harvey-Smith served three years as president of River Valley Community College in Claremont.

Dr. Alicia Harvey-Smith, president of River Valley Community College in Claremont, is stepping down from the post to take the job as executive vice chancellor at Lone Star College in Houston, Texas.

In accepting her resignation, Ross Gittell, chancellor of the Community College System of NH, pointed to several accomplishments in her three-year tenure, citing expanded workforce training partnerships with businesses, capital improvements made at the main campus in Claremont and the college’s academic center in Keene and re-accreditation of the RVCC nursing program.

In addition, the college will be officially opening a new academic center in Lebanon on Thursday.
