AHEAD buys Littleton commercial property, Brookstone picked for two shipyard projects ... and more
Mt. Eustis Commons, a commercial office complex on Cottage Street in Littleton, has been sold to AHEAD Inc., a nonprofit affordable housing organization. Mt. Eustis is a multi-tenanted professional office building containing 63,000 square feet, of which 47,000 square feet are rentable for commercial use. The building was formerly used as the local hospital and was made into two condo units almost a decade ago. Currently the other part of complex is home to the Beattie House, an affordable housing complex for seniors owned by AHEAD.
Peabody & Smith Realty commercial brokers Andy Smith and Mary Doherty represented the seller and assisted the buyers in the transaction.
Brookstone Builders Inc., Manchester, has been selected to perform two energy conservation and renovation projects by the U.S. Navy.
The first involves a renovation of an existing building at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard that will include the complete reworking and updating of interior office areas, historical window and masonry restoration, insulation upgrading and a new roof. Brookstone Builders will act as subcontractor with Richard Brady & Associates of Virginia Beach, Va., serving as general contractor. Mark W. Gemmiti will serve as Brookstone's project manager.
Brookstone will also be the sub-contractor, with CCI Solutions of Augusta, Maine, serving as primary contractor, for a refit-up of an existing building at the shipyard, including the installation of a new energy-efficient roof with restored trusses, historical window restoration, installation of storm windows and the reconstruction of a roof monitor, along with new mechanical and electrical systems. Erik Crisman will be Brookstone's project manager.
Three recent transactions have been announced by the Portsmouth office of Colliers International|New Hampshire.
In the first, the last retail space at Greenland Village Shops in Greenland was leased to Aesthetica, which offers services in waxing, tinting, microdermabrasion, facials and massage. The 1,078-square-foot, ground-floor space was the last available at the shopping center. David Choate and Andy Ward of Colliers represented the landlord and assisted the tenant in the transaction.
The other two transactions involved the sale of 24.23 acres at 420 Sixth St., Dover.
FMX LLC, the real estate subsidiary of Formax, acquired 18.98 acres with the aim of constructing a new 26,000-square-foot industrial facility. Fast Dogs Realty LLC, owner of the doggie day care business K9 Kaos, purchased 5.25 acres for future expansion.
Choate of Colliers represented the seller, CJM Durham LLC, in both sales. Peter Billipp of The Kane Company represented FMX and Dave Garvey of KW Commercial represented Fast Dogs Realty.
Rusty J. Mosca, director of the auditing and accounting practice of Nathan Wechsler & Company, Concord, has been elected a director and treasurer of the New Hampshire/Vermont Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Also named to the ABC VT/NH board was Joseph Campbell of Hillsborough, a project manager at North Branch Construction.
The John Flatley Company has announced the signing of a lease for 1,619 square feet of space at Tara Commons in Nashua by Elizabeth Grady Salon. The lease brings the mixed-use retail property to over 70 percent pre-leased, Flatley said.
Drake Petroleum Company Inc. of North Grosvenordale, Conn., has opened its newest Xtramart convenience store location at 1 Whitney Rd. in Concord. The Xtramart property occupies a two-acre portion of the larger Concord Crossing II development, a mixed-use project being developed by Interchange Development LLC at the Interstate 93 Exit 17 interchange with Route 4. Concord Crossing II will encompass approximately 10 acres of retail/commercial land along with 32 acres of industrial land.
Architect Juli MacDonald has been named manager of DeStefano Architects' residential studio. A member of the American Institute of Architects, MacDonald has over 20 years of architectural experience.
