Rabies clinic set for April 12

WILTON – The Wilton Animal Hospital will sponsor a rabies clinic for dogs and cats on Monday, April 12, 4:30 to 6 p.m., at the Fire Station.

Cost is $10 per shot.

All area people are welcome. Dog licenses will be available for Wilton residents.

The Wilton Recycling Center will hold a household hazardous waste collection on Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon. The collection is open to residents of Wilton, Greenville, Lyndeborough, Mason and Temple.

Acceptable materials include oil-based paints, pesticides, insecticides, household cleaners, automotive products such as antifreeze, gasoline and brake fluids, photo chemicals, driveway sealers, swimming pool chemicals and solvents. Materials that will not be accepted include asbestos, radioactives (smoke detectors), flares and explosives.

Latex paints require only soap and water for cleanup. The cans can be air dried (kitty litter helps with drying) and disposed of when dried.

If possible, keep materials in their original containers and securely closed. Leaking or broken containers should be placed in another container. Containers should be placed in sturdy, upright boxes and padded with newspapers if necessary. At the collection site, no smoking is allowed. Residents should stay in their vehicles.
