Codet Inc., a Quebec-based apparel manufacturer with a facility in Colebrook, has announced plans to build an 11,500-square-foot addition to its New Hampshire site and hire 25 new employees.
Codet, with headquarters in Coaticook, has three workwear and outdoor wear brands — Big Bill Protective Apparel, Big Bill Workwear and Wood'N Trail for Outdoor Apparel.
“Codet considered other states for its expansion, but the company decided to stay and grow in New Hampshire because of Colebrook’s quality labor force and the state’s low taxes,” said Michael Bergeron, business development manager for the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development.
According to Beno Lamontagne, the division’s North Country business retention specialist, “Colebrook’s strong cultural ties to Quebec and the town’s business friendly climate demonstrate that we welcome Quebec companies with open arms.”
Lamontagne has worked with Codet since the firm opened its Colebrook plant in 1992.
He said the expansion will be completed by the end of the year.
