NASHUA – The appointment-based collections are part of the revamped solid waste collection system.
Regular trash must be contained in blue automated carts, and no trash left outside the carts will be picked up.
Residents may continue to bring oversized waste directly to the Four Hills Landfill at 840 W. Hollis St. during normal operating hours, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. A residential permit is required for use of the facility.
The special collection of oversized metal items will continue to operate throughout the year.
Residents may request a special pickup of up to three metal items, such as appliances, per residential unit each year at no charge.
In addition, soft yard waste will be picked up on trash day each week.
Leaves must be segregated from trash, and placed in paper yard waste bags, available at area stores, or into 32-gallon trash cans.
Yard waste containers and recycling bins must be placed at least 3 feet away from the trash cart.
