Eckman gets Mascoma Valley school project … and more

Eckman Construction, Bedford, has been selected by the Mascoma Valley Regional School District as construction manager to renovate and construct additions at Mascoma Valley Regional High School. Architect is Marinace Architects of New Hampton.
Once renovations and additions are complete, Mascoma Valley Regional High School will feature a 500-seat auditorium and performing arts theater, new library media center, new main office and energy efficient upgrades throughout the facility. Completion is scheduled for September 2016.
The New Hampshire Wood Energy Council, one of 16 state wood energy teams funded in part by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, has released a five-minute video that provides and overview of heating commercial and institutional buildings with advanced wood chip and wood pellet heating systems.
Over 100 commercial and institutional buildings are heated with wood chips or pellets in New Hampshire, including schools, office buildings, fire stations, hospitals, greenhouses, and public works garages, the council said.
The former location of Swan Chocolates at 436 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack is on the market for $525,000. Prolman Realty Inc. of Nashua has been selected by owner Anderson Sweet Properties LLC to market the 4,168-square-foot building.
