ICSC networking event, Athas named Manchester-Nashua Realtor of Year … and more
The International Council of Shopping Centers will be sponsoring a New Hampshire Next Generation networking reception beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, at the Bedford Village Inn. The event, for real estate professionals interested in learning about retail opportunities in New Hampshire and New England, will feature representatives and business partners of the New Hampshire Liquor Commission. Taking part in a panel discussion will be Andrew S. Davis, real estate and leasing administrator, NHLC, and Rusty McLear, president of Mills Falls at the Lake and co-developer of the twin rest areas on I-93 in Hooksett.
Gail R. Athas of Manchester, a Realtor with Keller Williams Metropolitan of Bedford, has been named the 2014 Greater Manchester/Nashua Board of Realtors Realtor of the Year. Athas has been practicing real estate for over 15 years and was president of the board in 2007 and 2013.
Cheryl Tufts, a principal of Concord-based 3W Design and a member of the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Concord, helped oversee the recent redesign and rebuilding of the organization’s facilities.
Architect for the project was Frank Anzalone Associates, and the builder was Milestone Engineering & Construction, Inc.
Tufts also was instrumental in securing a federal block grant to help fund the project. The grant paid for new furniture and a new, state-of-the-art commercial kitchen—where culinary students from Southern New Hampshire University and the New Hampshire Food Bank will prepare free meals for up to 100 kids at a time.
Procon, a Manchester-based architectural design and construction management firm, recently turned to wedu to rebrand the company. The major project included a complete redesign of Procon’s corporate identity, logo and tagline. The new Procon branding will be used on all new marketing material, signage and advertising. The firm has also tapped wedu to redesign its website.
Working with Unitil, the Casino Ballroom in Hampton has taken a number of steps to reduce the energy required to cool the building. GDS Associates Inc. completed an energy audit of the building. The upgrades were installed by J. Lawrence Hall Company. The upgrades included: a new HVAC unit and economizer, which will increase total cooling output; new, cooler LED stage lighting that will generate less heat as wasted energy; and improved airflow to let excess heat from inside the venue escape more easily
Jewett Construction Company, Raymond, recently completed renovations to the First Colebrook Bank facility at 2400 Lafayette Rd., Portsmouth. Designed by Portsmouth-based Port One Architects, the current renovation included a 1,200-square-foot addition housing new offices.
