Manchester/Nashua Realtors install officers, USPS boiler/RTU replacement … and more

Theresa M. Grella of Amherst, a 29-year veteran of the real estate industry and a broker associate with Bean Group in Amherst, was recently installed as 2014 president of the Greater Manchester/Nashua Board of Realtors.

Other installed officers for 2014 are: Peter Schwartz of Bedford, vice president; Tom Van Horn of Amherst, treasurer; Maggie Kerkhoff of Hollis, secretary; Gail Athas of Manchester, immediate past president; and Angie Kopka of Nashua, lifetime ex-officio member.

Installed as 2014 directors: Robert Mongan of Manchester; Marypat Bilodeau of Manchester; Paul Sargeant of Hooksett; Steve White of Nottingham; Cynthia Coughlin of Merrimack; Effie Sorrentino of Manchester; and Janet White of Amherst.

Grella also appointed the following committee chairs, who will serve on the 2014 board: Maxine Goodhue of Hooksett (RPAC/Public Policy); Michael Caouette of Bedford (Budget & Finance); Pamela Dorji of Bedford (Communications); Charlotte Mohler of Nashua (Community Service); Mary Viens of Bedford (Education Committee); Kathy McCarthy of Raymond (Membership/Orientation); Kimberly LaFleur of Hudson (Programs); and Karen Brown of Hollis (Legal).

 

Meridian Construction, Gilford, has announced completion of boiler and rooftop unit replacement project at the U.S. Postal Service processing and distribution center in Manchester.

The $1 million project included removal and replacement of existing rooftop units and controls, in addition to the existing boilers, which were also removed and replaced with new condensing boilers.

 

Manchester-based Metro Walls has started work on developing the new residence hall at St. Anselm College in Goffstown. The 43,000-square-foot residence hall is scheduled to be completed this summer and open to students for the fall 2014 semester.

Metro is responsible for the construction of the exterior wall framing and the hanging and taping of all the drywall in the three-story residence which will house approximately 150 beds in single, double and triple rooms.

The residence hall is designed by Lavallee Brensinger Architects in Manchester. General contractor is Eckman Construction.

 

Brian Hooper, vice president of operations at Salem-based MSI Mechanical Systems Inc. has been elected national director the Associated Builders & Contractors NH/VT.

 

One Commercial Real Estate recently represented Village Silversmith in the lease of 1,300 square feet at 75 Congress St. on Market Square in Portsmouth.

Peter Thompson, mortgage loan officer for Bank of New Hampshire in Bedford has earned the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist designation, which identifies him as having the skills and knowledge required to remodel or modify a home to meet the unique needs of the older population, disabled owners or their visitors.

The National Association of Home Builders, in participation with the AARP and Home Innovation Research Labs, created the CAPS program, which includes training and education on the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to compete in the fastest-growing segment of the residential remodeling industry – home modifications for aging-in-place.

 

Joseph B. Reilly, president and CEO of Centrix Bank, has been named honorary chair of the 22nd annual Historic Preservation Awards hosted by the Manchester Historic Association.

The event will take place Thursday, April 17, at the Center of New Hampshire, Manchester.
